Travel Information
Proof of Citizenship
All travelers must have a valid passport booklet. If anyone has any questions on applying, please refer them to the following website. First Discount Travel recommends that all passports have a validity date of 6 months after you return to the United States (expiration date of January 2026 or later). Passport requirements can change at any time and without notice. Passport renewals can take up to 2-3 months for processing. (Expedited passports can be obtained in less than a week for a substantial additional fee)
Payment and Cancellation
Deposit/Payment Information
Rooms are held until June 1, 2024. Please confirm your reservation prior to this date in order to guarantee room availability. After this date, we will do our best to accommodate you in your preferred room category. Certain room categories are limited, so please secure early if you have a strong preference of the view from your room or its location.
o Initial deposit of 10% of the room cost is due by June 1, 2024
o The remaining balance (full payment) of the total room cost is due February 12, 2025
Should you need to cancel your room:
If you cancel your room between day of deposit and January 14, 2025, no penalties apply.
If you cancel your room between January 15, 2025 and February 12, 2025, deposit of 10% of the room cost is lost.
If you cancel your room between February 13, 2025 and March 29, 2025, 30% of the room cost is lost.
If you cancel your room on or after March 30, 2025, cancellation will result in full penalty, and accommodations are 100% nonrefundable.
*Please remember that airline tickets and Travel Protection plans/insurance are nonrefundable as soon as they are purchased.
Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance
Optional Travel Insurance is available for an additional cost. Rates will vary basis room category, number of nights, and overall cost. Once purchased, travel insurance is nonrefundable. All guests sharing a room must agree to either decline or purchase travel insurance. Please note that travel insurance will not allow cancellation due to a pandemic or “fear of travel.” This policy covers cancellation due to major medical emergencies (details on website below). In addition, medical expenses (up to policy limits) are also covered while traveling in the Dominican Republic (once again, it must be major and unforeseen). Please see website below for complete terms and conditions. First Discount Travel highly recommends that every guest protect their investment and purchase travel insurance. There is an “any reason” component to the policy. If you cancel for an uncovered reason (your dog is sick, you can’t get off work, etc.), you will receive 75% of the non refundable amount as a refund. The cost of this policy is 4% of the room cost. Travel insurance must be purchased or declined at time of deposit.
