This AAA 4 Diamond adults only and couples only resort is located in Ocho Rios, about 1 hour and 45 minutes from the airport in Montego Bay. As a member of Couples, the resort offers gourmet dining, premium brand liquor, scuba, snorkeling, golf, shopping day trips, free weddings, room service (6AM to 11PM), complimentary WIFI and more. The resort was built in the 1950’s, has 150 suites, and has a very classy Victorian feel. The resort is built into a mountain and there are lots of steps. The resort has a full activity schedule, but the resort is pretty quiet in the evenings. The resort has three pools, including a mineral pool and the main pool which has a swim up pool bar. There are two separate beaches at the resort. The primary beach is located in front of the main pool area and is cove shaped and nice. On the other side of the mountain, there is the nude beach or sunset beach, which has its own bar. There are 3 restaurants (Gourmet Italian, Continental, and Jamaican) plus a grill. The restaurants require reservations which can be made in the lobby or prior to arrival. There is no longer a jacket requirement at Casanovas. The resort hosts a beach party on Tuesday nights and the Starlight Gala dinner on Friday nights.
The rooms at this resort are all suites. The minimum category is an ocean view suite, which does not have a balcony. The Verandah suite has a partial ocean view and a balcony. The ocean view suite with balcony is the most popular room category. The resort has a world class spa with unique treatment rooms overlooking the ocean.
Overall, I like this resort a lot. It has a nice beach and pool. The spa and restaurants are fantastic. There isn’t much activity or nightlife, but if you’re looking for a romantic relaxing honeymoon, this would be a great option. The rooms are somewhat dated.
