This 5-story, 642-room beachfront All Inclusive property offers all the features and amenities you've come to expect from Riu Resorts. Breathtaking architecture, elegant restaurants and luxury accommodations, all surrounded by splendid tropical gardens.
Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas is ideally located within 3 miles of downtown Cabo San Lucas. This exciting town is known best for its phenomenal deep sea fishing. Land lovers will enjoy fabulous shopping, marvelous restaurants and outstanding night life.
A variety of exceptional restaurants provide a superb selection of buffet and a la carte dinner choices. In the evening be entertained by a live show or dance to your favorite tunes at the disco.
The Riu Palace is located near the action in Cabo san Lucas, on a nice swimming beach. The Riu has 642 junior suites of which most are ocean view or higher. The resort is symmetrical with two large pools with swim up pool bars. The pool on the right is the active pool, whereas the left is the relaxation pool. Obviously, the do and animation staff is at the active pool. The resort overlooks the famous El Arco and other beautiful rock formations.
There are 5 restaurants and 7 bars at the RIU. Reservations are required at all a la carte restaurants and can be done just outside of the lobby at guest services. Guest services is open from 11AM – 4PM daily. You can make a reservation for same and next day dining at the same time. The restaurants, themes, and times follow.
Buffet – no reservations required
Misaki – Asian 630PM and 830PM (it does not have the hibachi grills)
Sir Lawrence -French/Continental 630PM and 845PM (considered the nicest restaurant)
Mar De Cortez -Steakhouse 7PM and 830PM
San Jose -Italian buffet during the day and Mexican a la carte in the evening 630PM and 830PM
The Riu Palace also offers room service from 7AM to 11PM daily. The resort has all premium liquor and Corona (in bottles). The English Garden is an awful group location since it is an interior courtyard. The private terrace at the San Jose restaurant would be nice for a function or a private seating. The Riu has a nice ocean view gym, but no free weights. The Riu also has an ocean view spa. The main buffet is the only restaurant that offers a smoking section. The rooms are nice sized, but very bad décor!
In summary, the Riu Palace is a great choice for all inclusive in Cabo san Lucas. I like Dreams a little better since there is more elbow room and the same number of restaurants and half the number of guests. The other negative is the crowded beach due to the guests from the RIU Santa Fe located behind the Riu Palace. However, the Riu Palace has a much better beach and is much closer to the nightlife and shopping of Cabo san Lucas.
