Amidst 500 acres of a nature preserve, sits 50 acres of pristine and gorgeous landscape, with dual white-sand beaches spanning over two miles. This resort features three uniquely themed European villages: Dutch, Italian and French, each with its own pool. Choose from a variety of luxurious accommodations. All 360 rooms and suites feature direct ocean views while some feature the ultimate in personal pampering: butler service. With seven specialty restaurants to choose from, you may dine in a different corner of the globe each night without leaving the resort. Enjoy unlimited premium-brand drinks including Beringer house wines at 6 bars, play at endless land and water sports and indulge in a Caribbean-inspired treatment at the full service Red Lane Spa.
Before giving my description of this resort specifically, let’s summarize what is true about all Sandals resorts. All Sandals resorts are located on English speaking islands in the Caribbean. They’re adults only and couples only (no kids and no singles). Sandals resorts are all inclusive and include more amenities than any other resort chain. All Sandals resorts have at least 7 dining options up to 22 depending on which resort you choose. Sandals resorts are smaller and roomier than most all-inclusive resorts (the average in Mexico or the Dominican Republic is 700 rooms with three restaurants). The majority of Sandals Resorts are 250-350 rooms, with the largest being 505 rooms (with 15 restaurants). Sandals serves top shelf liquor and partners with Beringer for their house wines.
Sandals resorts are social! They cater to honeymooners and a younger demographic. There is a full activity program including sports games (volleyball, ping pong, tennis clinics, free throw shooting contests, etc.), silly couples games (water balloon toss, three legged race, belly flop competition), and live music every night. All non-motorized watersports are included (Hobie Cats, water trikes, sea kayaks, stand up paddleboards, wind surfing, and more). SCUBA (if you’re certified) and snorkeling trips are included as well.
Sandals Whitehouse is located 90 minutes south of the Montego Bay Airport in the completely secluded South Coast of Jamaica. There is no towns or neighboring resorts, Sandals Whitehouse is surrounded by natural beauty! Sandals Whitehouse was built in 2005 and was completely renovated in 2009. There are 360 rooms and suites located on a pristine stretch of private beach (2 miles). In addition to the amazing beach, the resort has three large lagoon style pools including the largest on the island! There are multiple swim up pool bars and fire pits along the beach. There resort has 7 restaurants, and Jasmine’s (Asian) was my favorite. Due to the secluded nature of the resort, there are more night time activities at Sandals Whitehouse than any other Sandals resort.
Despite being secluded, there are several really fun tours in the area including gorgeous YS Waterfalls, the Black River (crocodiles in the wild), zip lines, Catamaran cruise, and more. All of these activities are an additional expense and can be pre-booked by your First Discount Travel honeymoon specialist.
The rooms at Sandals Whitehouse are all oversized and comparable with view and amenities being the difference. Sandals Whitehouse converted to the Club Sandals concept in June of 2013 and all Club level (formerly concierge) rooms receive a fully stocked bar, 24 hour room service, and complimentary WIFI. The Butler serviced Suites are double the size of the regular rooms and have the pampering service of an English trained butler at their 24 hour disposal.
Overall, Sandals Whitehouse is my favorite resort in Jamaica and our number one selling resort in the Caribbean! The secluded beach and access to an active and social enormous pool is a huge benefit to honeymooners looking for the best of both worlds.
